Szilvásvárad is easily reachable by car, there are also direct buses from
Budapest, Miskolc and Szeged. By train the simplest routes are from Eger and Putnok.
From Budapest by car
Budapest-Szilvásvárad directions: road 3 or M3 motorway, then road 25, and the
Szarvaskő--Szilvásvárad--Kazincbarcika route. The distance from Budapest with M3
motorway is 164 kms , with route 3 it is 156 kms and from Eger it is 30 kms.
From other directions by car
In general, to get to Szilvásvárad we need to go to Füzesabony--Eger direction.
From Debrecen one should use road 33, from Szolnok and the
Southern Plains road 32 and 31 are ideal. From Eger, we follow the Szarvaskő road and
Szilvásvárad is the fifth village.
From Northern Hungary the village is also reachable through Kazincbarcika.
By train
Szilvásvárad has one railway station and one train stop, which lie on the
Füzesabony--Eger--Putnok line. To reach the village by train, it is best to use the
Budapest--Eger line, since Eger launches trains to Szilvásvárad. In Szilvásvárad, one
should get off at the Szilvásvárad-Szalajkavölgy stop.

By bus
From Budapest there are direct lines to Szilvásvárad and one can also get here with a
connecting line from Eger (Budapest-Eger, Eger-Szilvásvárad). From Budapest the
buses leave from the Stadionok bus stops. In Szilvásvárad, one should get off the bus
at the first bus stop.
