Positioning system of the three wheel robot, an analysis executed with use of the kap device
Presenter(s): Not defined.
Abstract
Positioning system of the autonomous three-wheel robot (KAP device) has been designed in the Department of Process Control of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow – Poland. The used pneumatic wheels have a lot of advantages, for example tractional adhesion, vibration damping, and easy overcoming of small obstacles. Unfortunately, pneumatic tyre has also some disadvantages with regard to a design of the positioning system of autonomous machine. This is mostly related to some difficulties in obtaining identical diameters of the driving wheels, depending both on the gas pressure and non-uniformity of machine load distribution. That is why rectilinear movement of the robot with symmetrical control of the drive motors is hard to be obtained, even in laboratory conditions

WEB BASED BENCHMARKING INFORMATION SYSTEM
Presenter(s): Farana, Radim
Abstract
This contribution presents the positive results obtained at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, with the Quality Management System, which was certified in the year 2005. The next step that was done applying the system Total Quality Management (Excellence System), according to the EFQM Excellence Model in the year 2006. The benchmark project, realized with many technical faculties from the Czech Republic and other countries, as one of important steps for improving faculty management, is also presented in the paper.
When the main problem of the benchmarking project was identified as a very complicated data collection procedure, a special project oriented to develop user friendly web based information system was started at the Department of Control Systems and Instrumentation, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava as a part of the students grant.
This contribution presents the developed web based information system, its structure and methods, which was oriented to obtain a universal environment for building different benchmarking projects for separate use. Project definition allows defining list of filled in parameters and in and in very easy form to define the computed output statements. This statement could be presented in a suitable graphical form, typically in time-dependent charts.
Developed information system is now ready for use in the next campaign of benchmarking project, realized with many technical faculties in last three year. Some interesting result of the past project application are also presented in the contribution and could be helpful for other technical faculties or as a background for future analysis focused on the technical teaching process.

SOFTWARE TO DEFINE AND ENABLE BLUE OCEAN STRATEGY
Abstract
In the paper is focused on description of tools and frameworks to formulate blue ocean strategies. Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) is a new business strategy. Blue oceans denote all the industries not in existence today—the unknown market space, untainted by competition. Unlike the Red Ocean Strategy, the conventional approach to business of beating competition, the Blue Ocean Strategy tries to align innovation with utility, price and cost positions. The article present software to define and aided blue ocean strategy attempting to make creation of blue oceans a systematic process.
