Anna Ławrynowicz:
Advanced planning and scheduling in manufacturing system
Presenters: Lawrynowicz, Anna
Abstract
This paper demonstrates how a intelligence techniques know as the expert system and the evolutionary algorithm can be used to optimise planning and scheduling in manufacturing system. The author discusses an expert system designed to help companies in the short-term planning. The goal of short-term planning is to generate production plans that satisfy all the temporal and resource constraints. The proposed expert system considers alternative process plans for a workpiece and outsourcing, when bottleneck machine exist. The research also studies the application of evolutionary algorithm for job shop problem with makespan as the criterion

REAL-TIME CONTROL BASED ON FEASIBILITY
Presenters: None.
Abstract
The paper presents a method for control of discrete event systems (DES) based on scheduling of the activities such that the specified real-time requirements are fulfilled. As example, a flexible manufacturing line (FML) is considered. Its processing technologies are described by mathematical relations. The real-time constraints are associated with the processing activities and the locking of the resources or machines. The parts processed by FML can have priorities. Before introducing a new part a scheduler verifies if it can be added for processing, such that the real-time requirements of the existing parts in the FML are met.
